Weekend Retreat: Camp Kerry
This retreat is the first of its kind in Canada – and is especially designed to meet the needs of parents, grandparents, caregivers, children and youth who are grieving the death of a loved one. It offers a unique opportunity for families to meet others in similar circumstances; decreasing their sense of isolation and fostering a new sense of strength, hope and mutual understanding. Camp Kerry is a place to relax in the beauty of nature and an opportunity to meet new friends while creating positive family memories.
Qualified counselors and specially trained volunteers provide a variety of therapeutic recreational programming including: Music & Art Therapy, Nature Hikes, Adventure Challenges, Swimming, Sports & Games, Yoga & Relaxation Massage, Sharing Circles, Campfires, Drum Circles and a Candlelight Memory Service.
Next years retreat will occur over a period of four days and be taking place between September 12-15, 2013 in British Columbia, Canada. If you’re interested in attending the Camp Kerry family bereavement retreat then please fill out the intent to register form to begin the process. Volunteer application forms are also available for those who wish to contribute their time, energy, and skill during this very extraordinary weekend.
